Annapurna Base Camp
8 days · Moderate · up to 4,130 m
Follow the Modi Khola valley through bamboo forest into the Annapurna Sanctuary, a glacial amphitheatre ringed by 7,000 and 8,000 metre peaks.

OVERVIEW
Annapurna Base Camp is the trek that made my home region famous. In a little over a week you walk from terraced farmland and Gurung villages, through deep bamboo forest, into a high glacial basin with Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre and Gangapurna standing all around you.
It is a good first high-altitude trek: the trail is well established, lodges are found every few hours, and the climb is gradual enough to acclimatise naturally.

Questions about Annapurna Base Camp
How hard is Annapurna Base Camp?
It is a steady, moderate trek with many stone steps. The altitude is the main challenge, so the itinerary climbs gradually and the last nights are spent above 3,000 metres.
Can I combine it with Poon Hill?
Yes. Starting via Ghorepani and Poon Hill adds two to three days and is one of the most popular combinations.
Is the route safe in winter and spring?
The section between Deurali and Machhapuchhre Base Camp can carry avalanche risk after heavy snowfall. I check local conditions every day and adjust the plan when needed.

Just completed my 10-day ABC trek in Nepal and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience! A huge thank you to Narayan for coordinating everything so smoothly and for arranging Sunil as my guide throughout the journey. From the very beginning, all my needs were well taken care of, which made the entire trek feel comfortable and stress-free.
The Annapurna Base Camp climb itself was beyond words — every step came with breathtaking views, unforgettable moments, and memories I’ll cherish forever. And of course, special mention to Sunil for being such a kind, patient, and accommodative guide throughout the trek. He not only guided me safely but also became the best photographer/videographer ever
The amount of nice photos and videos I came back with… priceless!
Thank you once again for making this adventure such a memorable one. Highly recommended for anyone planning to explore the Himalayas!

We recently completed a memorable 7-day trek guided by Narayan. Starting on the ABC trek, we faced some challenges early on. Narayan, with his keen insight, provided us with tailored advice and adjustments to our itinerary. This allowed each member of our group to enjoy the trek at a pace comfortable for them. By the end of the journey, we all shared in the satisfaction of a trek well done. Narayan’s professionalism and attentive care, along with the support of our porter Suman, made for a safe and enjoyable experience. His services come highly recommended for anyone looking for a trusted guide in the mountains.

He is a humble and very helpful guy. During my solo trip to Annapurna base camp he helped me a lot. He know every inch of the trail very well. He is very energetic and humorous guy. Walking on the trek with him was really a wonderful experience. In short he is one of the proffessional guide I have seen ever.
