OVERVIEW

Langtang is the easiest high valley to reach from Kathmandu: no flights, just a day’s drive. In a week you walk from subtropical forest into a wide glacial valley below Langtang Lirung, staying in Tamang villages that rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake.

It is a good choice if you want real mountain scenery without the crowds or flight delays of the Everest region.
